Material Composition:

  • Core Material: End-grain balsa wood (15 mm), density approx. 100 kg/m³
  • Face Sheets: Cellulose Fibres & Plant based resin
  • Edge/Mounting Zone: A 50 mm wide strip of high-density core material is integrated to allow for the secure installation of hardware

Applications:

  • Walls and furniture in expedition vehicles
  • Applications where weight reduction and robustness are critical

Technical Specifications:

Property Unit Value
Panel Thickness mm 17 (+/- 1 mm)
Panel Weight kg/m² 4.5
Core Material Density kg/m³ 100 (end-grain balsa wood)
Compressive Strength MPa 5.5 (depending on moisture and temperature)
Shear Modulus MPa 136

Advantages That Make a Difference:

Lightweight Construction for Maximum Payload
With a weight of less than 4.5 kg/m², the Sherpa Panel enables significant weight savings. For a vehicle with 40 m² of installed panels, this translates to an additional payload capacity of up to 100 kg—ideal for extra luggage, equipment, or even an additional passenger.
