The Hæppy Bench is a modern classic reimagined. In the 1950s, the introduction of fiberglass furniture changed the world of design. Lightweight organic forms could suddenly be produced in series, and pieces like the famous Vitra chair became icons of a new era. We take this idea further. Our benches are not made from glass fiber, but from natural flax fibers — produced with the same sustainable composite technology we use for high-performance boats and vehicles. They are strong, tactile, and durable, while offering a completely different material experience.
Each bench starts as a clean white sculpture. From here, artist Lisa Wolf transforms it into a unique work of art. Her vibrant, expressive paintings turn the bench into a statement piece that works equally well in private gardens, public spaces, or interior settings. No two benches are ever the same. You decide the theme, Lisa brings it to life.
The process is simple. You purchase a blank Hæppy Bench through our Circular Structures shop. After that, we connect you directly with Lisa to define the artistic direction. Once finished, your bench will be hand-painted, sealed, and delivered to you as a one-of-a-kind artwork.
Each bench is made from flax fiber composite with a wall thickness of 14 mm and weighs around 25 kg. The dimensions are 1980 × 916 × 778 mm. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, and can be ordered either blank or hand-painted.
